Thanks for the compliments on the gauges. I like them. They make the LEDs in most colors and size options for cheap on amazon and other places. It took me a bit to make the swap to aftermarket gauges. I liked the stock look, but not how hard it was to read the gauges.
Now I think my headlight switch is going out. I don't drive much at night to need it, but did a couple days ago and had a funny smell and the dash lights kept flickering. I have been meaning to do the headlight relay upgrade, I guess now I will be doing it sooner than later.
My week was rough, but i made it through. I had to make a tough decision & I finally chose to turn in my formal 2 week resignation at work. I truely love my job! Next to the Fire Dept., this is one of the best jobs I've ever had! It's just some of my coworkers that cause drama & are dangerous to work with that I don't like.
Then on Thursday, my 4runner acquired a gas leak somewhere under the hood & is now out of commision. Jimmy said I was lucky that it didn't go into flames while I was driving home from work. You can smell the gas inside the cab & outside from like 20 ft away. So, today, we hope to find & fix the leak...hopefully.
On a more positive note, the new puppies are opening their eyes now & they're so adorable! I can't wait until they're in that cute, playful stage.
Oh!... Dayton Valley Days is today & tomorrow in downtown Dayton off Pike St. if anyone is interested. I think there's a car show there too.
BTW... that's 4 vehicles down. 3 with transmission problems & 1 gas leak. Hopefully, the big truck & the Subaru will last until we can get atleast 1 of them fixed.
Greg, that is a nice job on the gauges. I think that the headlight switch has a big old fashioned rheostat in it. The sweep tends to lose it's tension and that is fixable just by
bending it a little. That is probably where the dash lights flickering comes from. Pat has probably been into one of them before. Corroded contacts suck!
Jim, I am glad you are home. Hope you are on the road to recovery. Nobody likes doctors going in there a messing with your gizzard! Be well my friend.
Donna, what was the deal on that van you posted back a few pages? AWD? You have got a lot of rolling stock not rolling! How many are stick and how many are automatics?
I really cracked up when you said you were waiting for your mechanic to get out of prison!!! What was he in for? Hot car parts? But more importantly, has your family gotten their health back? How about posting pictures of all your animals... Have not seen the horses for quite a while. Let's see those pups too. Anybody riding those horses?
Hey Greg, I once had a half a tennis ball for a horn button. Had a switch inside so it really worked the horn.
I have been setting tiles. I am using 12 x 24 tiles. Working slowly but it is starting to take shape. Put in a new tub which I have to be very careful of. Using white marble for trim and for the vanity top. My guy (a former employee of mine,) actually one of his employees, cut my vanity top wrong so they are starting all over as of yesterday. I don't know how long a delay that will be.
Formula 1 on this weekend. I taped the qualifying, race runs Sunday.
