Random rant thread -- join the fun

Everybody has some "Why is it..." deals. Thought that it might be fun to compile a list. I'll start with a couple and hopefully some of you will chime in.

Please nothing about driving -- that needs a thread of its own

Why is it...
Companies never think that you might be calling to talk to customer service -- and you really don't want to make a payment or place an order

While you're waiting, the phone reminds you to use www.uselesswebsite.com to do what you've haven't been able to do for at least an hour

The system records your account number to access your info -- and the CS rep says right away -- what's the account number

The phone connection is crystal clear and loud -- until the heavily accented rep picks up -- at which time it becomes soft and garbled

Opinion surveys never have any questions about the things that are really bugging you

CS reps apologize to you. Why should they be sorry ( they aren't of course).

Why can you order stuff online for same day pickup at the store that they don't have on the shelf

Why do businesses have those stupid signs with scrolling text -- are you supposed to keep driving around the block until you can finally read the whole message?

Those are mine for right now. Here's hoping some of you can add a few more.

Thanks,

hj

What moron designs such a tight parking lot for our home improvement stores? Most of us go there with trucks.

When delivering the mail, I commonly deliver mail to homes and the address line says, "current resident", "Virginia driver", "grocery shopper", "smart shopper", etc and some people will place these mail pieces back in the box after having written all over it. Does anyone take the time to read anymore?

I'm the first owner/ built home. Get mail addressed to people I never heard of. When I questioned them, the post office insists they have to be previous occupants. When I mention they must have lived in woodchuck holes and we never noticed them in the 100 years we've owned the land ...I get a blank stare....My mail guy is real good and I understand what he has to do but it gets very annoying so I now write unknown on them and put them back in one of those public mail boxes. .

Speaking of littering, gum. Why do people spit their gum out in parking lots and wherever else that someone will come along and step in it . Nothing more enjoyable than standing there scraping some strangers spit glob off your shoes.....

And NJ seagulls.....just minding my own business enjoying an ice cream on the boardwalk and......splattage....direct hit....all my wife had to say was thank god it missed the ice cream.......

Why do they clean/disinfect the area where they are going to inject "THE NEEDLE" to kill them with?

Why is it that the guy behind the parts counter has no idea what I'm asking about?

Why is it that it takes a Ford dealer 4 weeks to fix a little front end damage on a 2007 fusion? Just crazy.

Do some work at retail stores, people get all confused when the automatic doors stalls for whatever reason. Some will jump or stamp there feet thinking it's 1970 with the mat activated doors, then they realize it's 2015 and start waving their arms trying to trigger the sensor that's as confused as they when all they have to do is PUSH the stupid door just like grandma had to do and walk inside.......
