Interesting. I use my back slider all the time an the roof in my wife's Durango all the time too. It's funny how an option that is so important to some is completely useless to others...

I have the power slider. I use mine most of the time. It stays open so the cab doesn't get so hot.

I do the same. Crack a window and open the slider and you get great air circulation without the noise of having your window down.

I rarely use the moon roof on mine. I did open some when we were in Ontario this summer. I open the rear slider when I am hooking up and unhooking. I am usually running the ac to keep the heat and humidity down.

My rear slider is cracked open about 1/2" at all times. It's because there are two-four men riding in my truck for hours on end and I hate foul smells. We are usually sweaty after working, on travel day we are just riding all day. Just better to have air passing through the cab.

I'll have a canopy on the truck, so the step should still come in handy.

The Husky mats are definitely on my list as well. I really like the ones in my Focus ST. I opted for the Ford rubber mats to get me by until I get around to ordering the Huskies. The carpeted mats on my Focus were trashed in the week I used them before my liners showed up for it.

I agree a Garmin or phone will beat any built-in nav unit, but I'll likely still order it because I think not having it on the display would drive me crazy. I use the nav in my Focus quite a bit, but only after looking up the address of where I want to go on my phone.
I have the tailgate step on my truck but I removed the stripper pole and tailgate liner. Replaced it with a flat liner. The step I like but I didn't like the non-flat tailgate. I rarely use the Nav, I don't like the fact that I can't see the surrounding area as well as I can on my phone and zooming is a pain, I have an '11 though so that has likely changed. Also don't like that the head unit suppresses text notifications.

Power slider rarely gets used, same with the sunroof.

I think our 15 nav unit is much better....it shows every minor road I have traveled and doesn't say "make a legal u turn "when I go off track. The screen zooms in easily. Just some of the changes over the last 4 years

Again, my truck is on the road and the nav gets used daily. The 2011 nav has things about it that are better than the 2015, they both have pluses and negs.

2011
Better font
Better looking map graphics
Seemed more precise

2015
Updated roads and speed limits
Larger screen
More precise arrival times

Head units also are different with the 2015 being slightly less cumbersome.

Only thing I hate about the 2015 is that there is no way to turn on/off seat heat/cooling without going to the screen menu. I miss having an actual button vs. having to change the nav screen.

Also, I don't like that the recirc function is set as default for the a/c. Recirc with 3 men in the cab is not pleasant.

Finally, for map viewing and road alerts I run waze or my phone map while I'm driving, so I've got the truck nav running and my phone is displaying the road map as well. The combination of running waze and listening to the CB has saved me countless hours of traffic problems. Actually, the cost of driving all across the country is significantly lower when the combination of nav, road alerts, and CB is utilized. Saving 10-30 minutes of run time and choosing routes that shave off 10-50 miles almost every day really adds up t some good money saving.

Although you cannot delete them, I almost never use my fog lights and don't believe that they help me see much more. They seem to now come standard on most vehicles but I don't see much value but that's not why I don't use them. Some people in my area drive with their fog lights on whenever their normal lights are on. There was a thread recently about Ram drivers that drive with their moose ears on/out 100% of the time. I don't want to be that guy driving with my fog lights on all the time. I don't always appreciate fog lights when they are aimed at me in on-coming traffic.

Maybe if I upgraded to better lights like many have here, I would find value. Still wouldn't drive around 100% of the time with them on though.

When I got my truck it had the tail gate step. I thought that was one of the dumbest ideas around. I love it. Makes getting in/out of the bed a snap.
This is my first truck with a short bed. It will be my last one with a short bed.
Good luck with your new ride.

I believe the 2011 Nav arrival times are based on how you set the default road speeds in the settings, which is wildly inaccurate. Glad you hear they may have fixed this.

This might be a stupid question, but is recirculation better for gas mileage? That might have something to do with it...

Les, recirc just re-cools the air in the cab instead of pulling fresh outside air and cooling that. No difference in mileage as the compressor is running either way. It just cools faster as it's cooling air that's already partially cooled as opposed to hot outside air...

Window Sticker Populated!

The window sticker populated this morning and it looks like everything I ordered is on there, so I'm pretty stoked! The truck is supposed to be built next week, with an ETA at the dealer of November 1st.

Here's a link to the window sticker for anyone that wants to take a look.
