6.0 L Problems!

My '03 6.0L F250, with 21k miles, had a lot of power. I blew off the trubo hose, after the turbo, and now it has no power on the bottom end. The turbo doesn't hold you back like it did, it now acts like a 7.3L, on a hill. I have taken it to the dealer, and they can see the problem, but nothing comes up on the computer. I has a rough idle, blows smoke when it starts, the milage is 10 to 15 mpg. I called Ford with problem, they contacted the dealer, it is still not right and the dealer is upset because I called ford.
I just want the power I had when I bought it.
What happened? Did the turbo blow? On larger IH engines the turbo blows if the hose comes off. Why won't Ford fix it, don't they know what is wrong? Can anyone tell me?

Thanks
Roger

Just keep in mind the PCM will Sweep the Veins in turbo this will cause a sound change and does it at set intervals at Idel

any drivability Issues????

Any Gauges????

I take it this is more than the veins sweeping does run bad

these were the issues before turbo was replaced. Thought maybe to clean turbo until looked inside and saw veins were thrashed. So replaced with rebuilt and still intervals of up and down tones from idle.....thanks

Drives bad sure oh yea...replaced EGR too because of black smoke and power loss. Still smokes but very little so far. Hope to blow out any excess ****. Turbo whines up now and did not before. Hope this current issue is lighter on the wallet !

Without a ScanGaugeII or anything of the Like your not going to get Far

Maybe run by oreilyes autoparts or autozone they scan for DTC for free

But you need to see some sensors

NO^^^^^

There is No Waiste Gate on the 6.0L they are diff than the 7.3L

The VGT Valve controls the turbo veins to control Boost output depending on the info the pcm receives from other sensors like
Acc Pedal
Baro
MAP
EBP
MAF

and may vary year to year

Gotcha...Just replaced the EGR Valve and reading that there maybe two differ ones by production date, so I'll check that. What do you think about me checking the Temp Sensor and that it's not choked up sending EGR into a loop cycle ? Learn something every payday about my 6.0 L.

Well whats your ECT and EOT getting up to

The EGR Valve dont begin to work until 185* EOT IIRC

Is the truck Low on Power????

I mean the Turbo will have a change in tone as it idels this is because the PCM will sweep the Turbo Veins to keep them from sticking

so some change in turbo sound/tone is normal

ECT -engine coolant temp
EOT-engine oil temp
IIRC- if I remember correctly .lol
PCM- onboard computer

You need to go to Auto Zone and pick up a ScanguageII for $160.00 you will be able to connect to your PCM and see every sensor your truck has and these guys will help you figure out whats going wrong with it.
