Can someone give me a link or e-mail me with the specifications of the 2001 version of the Powerstroke diesel. I'm primarilly interested in the HP and Torque specs as well as the accompanying rpm ranges, thanks in advance.
Thanks for the link, I noticed there were two different 7.3L V8's: one was 250HP, the other was 275HP. How do you know which one you have? I know the specs are higher for the standard transmission. Anyway, my sister went to K-State and still lives in Manhattan so we root for K-state football and KU basketball!
I checked with FORD and they will look up your specs with the VIN number. My 2001 was as follows: 250HP @2600 RPM, Torque was 505 @1600 RPM. I have the 4 speed automatic. My reason for inquiring was to try to compare specs with my brother's 5.9 Cummins, and the new 6.0 PSD. The new 6.0 seems to get its power at substantially higher RPM's. Am I correct on this observation?? If so, do you start losing the benefits of a diesel as you go higher and higher on the RPM's.
It's actually an "800" telephone number to the Ford customer relations dept. Have your VIN number handy. 1-800-392-3673. They will tell you everything you need to know about your actual truck. Good Luck!
Has anybody had luck with the https://myford.fordvehicles.com site. I thought this would allow you to get the same information by registering your VIN. I tried to register a couple weeks ago, but never go it to work.
