Crazy AC Pressure Valve??

My '91 F150 AC pressure release valve just started leaking after a year of service. It's the one that is mounted on the suction hose at the compressor. The compressor of course started cycling, so I gave it a shoot of 134A and now it leaks at approx 40 psi on the low side of the the system. I'm in South Texas and normally I should be able to have the low side around 45-55 psi. That normal for 100 + degree summer weather. Does this valve adjust? I noticed that it will turn with a wrench. If not can you buy just the valve or do I have to buy a whole new hose assembly? Thanks for your help, Jon.

Call G.P.D. to verify, but the relief valve, part # 1711252, is what I have here for my 1989 system.

Consider that you may have a condition that is high pressure on the system, and that the relief valve tripped/opened.

It's not uncommon for relief valves, in all sorts of different applications, to leak after an "event".

I ordered mine at the Ford dealer for about $15. It is easy to replace just be sure to evacuate the system with a vacuum pump before recharging.
