Any Creative Storage solutions for the Supercab people?
ive seen the box that can goes under the rear flip down bench.... but in my situation that box is useless for me as i almost never flip the rear bench down and i put junk back there often....
i have a cross box in the bed, but slowly over the last 5 yrs the "truck stuff" has been booted out for more and more work tools and parts.... annd now the box is crammed, haha.
im working on trying to figure out how to get basic hand tools into a small enough package to fit under the driver/passenger seats, but no luck yet....
I flip down my rear benches and put a long flashlight, both tow ball inserts, sledge, and wrenching bar underneath.
I put down a large towel on the bench to keep my box from sliding. I use one heavy duty box about 16"x36" for my tools and another tote to carry other misc tools, pullers, come along, rope, etc.
Here's my h/d box in the bed of my truck while on the road, replacing an injector in SD.
Nice idea with those storage compartments for small items.
Almost look like its a mini safe for valuables when locked up.
Just have to find a place where you're not cutting through the floorboard avoiding fuel, brake, or electrical lines.
but I removed the lower part of the seats (6 bolts)... large plastic totes.. fit.
I will keep an eye on this thread.. always looking for Better Ideas.
sure enough if i took my rear bench out id need to haul people...
im thinking of building a hitch rack under the truck to store the hitches, and either putting a tool roll jumper cables and tow strap in a large ammo can and bolting it to the frame rail under the bed.. or some how shoe horn all that junk under the driver passenger seats...
as far as the hitch rack under the truck, im in southren california.... rust is not a concern to me...
How about just adding a second truck box in the bed? May not be ideal, or have "the look" you may want, but when I did business telephone systems, I had to carry an absurd amount of stuff for work. I bolted an identical truck box behind my first one in the bed. You could look at adding the top of bed rail side boxes as well?
You can always take them off again when your situation changes.

except for children.. Do adults FIT in the rear seats.? just asking
I know I do not fit back there...
besides, I do not have children or family... just a wife.
and my previous truck only had 1 bench seat.

its kinda crossed my mind, but i don't have enough truck junk to warent a 2nd cross box or side box. i don't carry a full kilt tool selection for working on the truck when im local (within 100 miles of home) and if i go far i may carry a wrench roll of SAE and metric and a couple rails of sockets and a multi meter... really that's all you need to work on these trucks most of the time.
other tricky part is i need my bed space, i haul my cart and a 6' and 4' ladder in the bed, then toss in parts for my jobs as needed.
its been a tricky balance of work truck and personal truck when im off the clock.... try my best to keep the interior clean so when you do wash up from the days work and go out on the town you don't get disgusted with a dirty truck.

adults fit better back there than they would in my last ranger!!!
What about one or two pork chop boxes? Those fit in the bed corners that usually aren't used.
ya ive seen those, i borrowed one from a friend and it just didn't work out... too used to being able to carry an 8' step ladder laying down in the bed!
oh well shoulda bought a crew cab like i wanted... but got impatient after 4 month's of truck shopping.
i was looking under the front 60/40/60 i might be able to make some drawers to fit under there... wont be very big or tall, but its something! have to talk to my sheetmetal guy

I had a woman and a big 10 year old sit in the back of mine, no comments, but she may have just been polite.
There is no way that I would fit.
I tried to drive an S10 pickup when they first came on the scene but I am so tall in the saddle, that I would
need to install a roof vent, for my head to fit in. Boy those roofs were low.

I must be missing something, because I'm not sure how these:
would keep you from carrying a ladder in the bed. Wouldn't it lie down right between them?
