What is the coil spec'ed for? In other words, what year, truck or car, and what ignition system?

sorry..DUH....

1987 F250 351, 4bbl carburetor I found specs on the Wells replacement:

minimum primary not less than 1.3 ohms
minimum secondary not less than 9000

I am getting 1.5 and little less than 9000 like 8975..I am trying to figure out a problem starting the truck...i have been fighting it for a while..I am just going through gas, air, fire until i find the issue...

If the spark is blue or white your coil is fine. As for the difference in readings, yours are within the tolerance of many DVM's.
