I am still in the process of converting the truck to UK specs, and I have to put a red light hanging on the bottom of the rear bumper for when the fog gets so thick you can't see very far. Anyways, to make this light work i need to put a switch on the inside of the cab and i either have to find a power wire, or run a wire back from the battery. Also, does anyone know of a good place to run wires through the firewall?
I have a switch and some instructions that came with my foglight kit. The kit runs a switch in the "non-stock" position; it hangs down at the bottom of the dash, next to the airbag shutoff. I didn't end up using that switch, I ended up buying the stock radio bezel and the switch that fits into that for my foglights since my truck had all the wiring for the foglights anyway.
The kit's switch tapped into a wire underneath the steering column using a small plastic splicer. The power on the switch was used to light the small pilot light in the switch. They routed the switch lead through a hole approximately above the clutch. The picture is hard to decipher, sorry.
I'll try to post a shot of the instructions, switch and wire tomorrow. Maybe you can zoom in on the picture for some more detail, just hoping it will give you some ideas.
