63 F100 hood

I live in Baldwin City Kansas. Just west of Kansas City Kansas and i am looking for a hood and tailgate for my 63 F100. I am also looking for shift linkage to put my 3 speed back on the tree. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dennywathke@aol.com.

Hood is the same: 1961/66 F100/700.

1961/63: TWO different types of Stylesides, so there are TWO different types of Styleside tailgates. There are also TWO different Flareside tailgates as it depends on the length, 6 1/2' or 8' bed.

3 speed shift linkage is the same: 1961/64 F100/250 2WD

Another question. I put on a new speedo cable, the plastic gear looked good. I reused it. The speedo works up to about 25 mph then drops out. It is bouncing pretty much the whole time it is working. Any ideas?

See if the nylon gear has stripped.

It looked like the teath on the outside were ok. Would it be stripped on the inside somehow?

The gears inside the speedometer itself may be stripped, Ford only sold these with the speedometer, but speedometer shops have the gears, will replace them when you give them your speedometer.

I can see, maybe, why you'd want to replace the tailgate, but the hood looks pretty good to me.

FWIW, I think the gate is repopped (Truck Parts and Truck Accessories), though I can't attest to application, fit or quality. It and the hood are very hard to find in good used condition.

Thanks again. I took the speedo cable off the back of the speedo, shot some lube in there and it loosened up a little. Crazy thing though, only works when im giving it gas. As soon as i let off the gas the speedo needle drops to 0.

Thanks Steve, the hood is a little rough but i think i can work some of the issues out with a strap, clamps and a welder. After that its cosmetic. I would like to find a tailgate though. There must be something out there somewhere.
