No Blinker, Brake Light

What does this sound like to you guys: when I push the brake pedal, the right brake light comes on but not the left. When I turn on the flashers, the right light blinks but the left does not. When I turn on either blinker, neither light comes on. But when I turn on the headlights both lights come on. Turn signal switch?

This is on a 1972 F250 4x4

Ryan, There are 3 wires going to the back to run those functions, 1 is for tails license is included, the other 2 are left & right turn signal that is shared with the brakes.

Right side working with brake and tail sounds OK, left working with neither sounds like bulb.

Do you have a circuit tester? You won't spend a ton of money if you replace both the turn signal and emr flasher, as well as all 4 tail light bulbs.

A circuit tester will at least tell you if power is getting to the bulb.

Thanks for the response, it turned out that i changed the turn signal switch and it solved the brake lights and halfway the blinkers, but the lights would illuminate but not blink. I figured it must be the flasher for the blinkers so replaced that and I'm almost there. Now I've got tail lights, brake lights, and blinkers that blink in the back but not in the front. When the headlights are on the lights don't illuminate and the blinkers don't work either. I had read multiple places on here that if the brake lights weren't working and neither were the blinkers it was most likely the turn signal switch. Any chance there's something similar like that if the front blinkers aren't working even though the back are?

It's that chrome lever sticking out the left side of the steering column. The actual switch is right under the steering wheel....

The flashers are under the dash

The fuse is in the fuse panel (also under the dash)

The engine is under the hood.....

It's right underneath the steering wheel. Changing it wasn't that bad actually. To get the steering wheel off I ended up having to beat on it with a hammer because even with the air impact wrench and the steering wheel puller it didn't budge. Three screws held the switch down and then there were 7 wires coming off the switch running through the steering column that ended at an 8 wire plastic wire harness. Before doing this I read very helpful advice on this forum to tape string to the old wires when pulling them through the steering column so you have a way to pull the new wires through. That tip was awesome. Maybe common sense to some but I'm new to working on trucks so that's a trick I will file away for future stuff
