I know I've seen it posted on here before, but for the life of me I can't find it. What is the maximum safe temp on engine oil? Mine is running at 212 unloaded at 60 mph. Thanks for all replies.

If the PCM sees an oil temp > 110°c (230°f) for a period of time without a decrease in temperature it will throw a code P0298.
So with that said, if I'm towing heavy pulling a grade I wouldn't let it hit much over the 230-240 mark for any length of time. I normally only see 220's at the most and once I crest it comes right back down to 210 or so.
