Ok I solved my carb problem. Ended up being the notorious pump diaphram flooding issue with the Carter YF. Rebuilt and is purring like a kitten. This time I'm looking for a 4.9 radiator for my 77 F-250. No luck in the wrecking yards and this time I know it's shot lol. If anyone has one and is willing to sell let me know
i for sure don't have one to help ya out, wish i did....
what about ordering online or at local parts store? its not hard to come up on that price point of driving around and paying for a used rad, when you could order it and have it brand new and shiny for almost the same price?
i tried to give the yards a shot, but after not finding good deals and used parts costing almost new i gave up on them.... also got tired of being searched like a felon with a toolbox.... my tool box i had at the time had of course tools but a few random bolts and such and after the "security" almost spray bombed my tool box contents so they knew i wouldn't steal a bolt i refused to set foot in a yard. i don't buy nice tools for some knuckle head to spray paint and shake my box... almost killed him!
sorry got a bit side tracked, anyways good luck on your search!
I'm a big believer in rebuilding radiators, instead of replacing. Seek a local radiator shop near you and ask them. They can rebuild yours, or even build a complete piece, and it should be better than the chicom junk you find at parts stores. Usually cheaper too. If you want more cooling capacity? Yeah, they can do that too.
I'm with ^^ Bill ^^ on this, too. I've got a good shop up here in the Valley. Fortunately I haven't had to use them in years, but they're still there if I need them.
good to find out there is shops around still....just seems when i need and ask about them at parts places nobody knows jack squat! and google don't exactly find all the hole in the walls..... tough for a youngin like me with a somewhat old soul.
Funny how we've both independently found some real-good shops here in the Valley, and they turn out to be the same ones!
Drove past your place yesterday on my way home from Congo Park (needed a side-street so I could talk on the phone). That REAL-good-looking dent-side was in the driveway.
