Last night I was already in bed but could not stop stressing over how hard the rear spring pins were going to be to replace. Well I ended up under the truck in boxers and despite the untimely failure of my Camble & Hautchfeld air chisel everything came together or untogether I should say with relative ease. Thanks to the ever helpful FTE search feature, which told me exactly what to do, plus some pins that seemed happy to get some attention after 65 years. Now Ill press out the old bushings while Im waiting for the new parts to arrive from C.H.. Im going to do one side at a time , just so I have a reference point on the untouched side. That is unless I start stressing over the drivers side tonight Ha Ha! I know, no pics it didn't happen, but sorry you will just have to believe me about my attire, this is a family site after all.
I'm glad that the pins didn't fight you, sometimes they can be a real bugger. I think we all have spent long lonely hours in the garage in the middle of the night. Heck, this time of year its the only time where it cools off enough to do the work
I think we all have lost sleep over our trucks at some point. And I'm right there with you worrying about some of the things I've had to do that I'd never done before. But FTE always comes through for us.
