need some advise 460 EFI
Looking to by a 1992 F250 XLT extended cab 4x4 with a 460 EFI auto.
Has 93,000 on it and has been sitting for 6 months. My neighbor down the road is the original owner he is 90 years old, he said the front brakes went out he ran a light and was hit in drivers side bed by the front tank. the front gas hose came off and drained some fuel, he parked it and has not driven it since.
He said the battery in dead and needs some gas and should fire up. Very clean truck Said I could have it for $1800 but need to get the front brakes done ASAP. I can get a very strait bed at the yard for $600. So $2400 a battery and brakes and I am down the road. Any advise on this old of a truck and what to do since its been sitting? Should I offer less is this a good deal, with a relpaced bed it would look new, interior is perfect. What kind gas mileage can I expect the rear end tag says 3L55 102230. It has 235/85/16 tires are these stock. I have been looking at F150's 1992-96 with 351M and can't find many most f150's are 300 or 302, very few 351W but the f250 seem to be all 460 or 7.3 deisel. The 460 seem smooth with power to give the 351w has power but max out around 60-70. What would be the MPG difference of the 351w and the 460 with the 3L55 rear end? Thanks any advise.
