I need some help really bad, yesterday I was driving and all of the sudden I hear this grinding noise and then I stopped, the engine was still running and still starts and runs fine BUT, I can't put the truck into gear. The only gear I have is reverse. I think the tranny is gone and I need some advise on what you guys think here. (1988 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 5.8efi C-6) how much would the cost be to rebuild the transmission? or if I can find a good deal and supply a shop with the parts, how much would they charge me to put the new tranny in?
Thanks for any help
Or it could be that your welded rear end broke it's weld and messed up everything in your rear chunk (differential). Cause mechanical grinding noises are not good .
I have a C6, T18, and T19 if you want one let me know and maybe we can work something out.
BTW...the C6 came out of a 1983 F-250 4x4 with a 351W. I dunno how many miles it has on it but the truck read about 115K when I pulled it.
Happy Wheelin'
