Hello,
I have a 1979 F-150 XLT long bed. (302 v8 c4 2.75 gears) and I'd like to lower it alittle (but keep the factory stance) and make it handel better. How can I go about doing this the "right" and safe way? Who should I look at for parts?
Nick
first step that I would take is front and rear swaybars off a 250 camper special and some better shocks. my 76 250 supercab has the front and rear swaybars and gabriel super 500 shocks and handles great
I know low profile tires help ALOT! I have 235/75/15s on it now, and I hate to go lower profile as I really like the look of the wheel wells being "filled" and I like these wheels alot. I thought about maybe getting some 20" dodge ram take offs but I'm not sure. If I go lower profile I'll want to keep the same height so I'll want a bigger wheel.
The front fills the wheel well alot but the back doesn't as well as I'd like. I was thinking of possibly using 6 cyl. springs up front and 2" drop springs out back, whatta y'all think?
As far as the f-250 sway bars go, are new bushings avliable and will any modifications have to be done to my truck (drilling, welding etc? or are all the holes and such already there)?
Thank you
Nick
