I've read a few posts saying the np435/dana 21 combo is basicly an orphan set up-- as in nothing will adapt to 435 trans. But no one says why or how to solve the problem. I have a 76 f100 with this combo and am looking to swap in a different t-case for low range work. I'd really like to go with the 203/205 setup. So how about some specific answers please? Change output shaft? Change adapters? Whats gonna work? I find it hard to believe nothing can be done. It may be a pain, it may require hard to find parts, but there has to be a solution. Thanks.
Redroad that is pretty cool, however where does that nifty adapter between the 435 and 203 box come from?? Can't seem to find anything on WMS and SMW doesn't list that on his website.
Novak's site says dana 21 and 20 are similar. What about putting a bronco 20 in place of the 21??? And what makes the 2wd version different than the 4wd version of the 435 other than the bolt pattern on the back of the trans??
I will ignore your comment since you're new around here looking for help because there are few other sites to answer your question.
Not much difference. The bolt pattern is the critical point. Why you ask? If going with a married t-case or doubler, then it's a 4wd version that is needed. Divorced t-cases in 4wds and 2wd trucks have the 2wd version including the married situation of a NP435s with a married Dana 21 t-case which also features a 2wd pattern. Dunno why.. it just is. You are welcome to contact Novak if you really must know.
I believe that 203/205 doubler set up comes from Offroad Designs.
