Beat The Heat.
+1 to Ultraranger - no need to soak your shirt, it is that way in no time.
I hate the heat, I've been trying to talk my wife into moving back north to NH.

Operating a open cab D-9 dozer in summer time heat averaging 112-117 how I stayed cool. All equipment other then Ore truck had 5gal. iced water jugs.
In the summer time, I wet a rag about the size of a wash cloth soak it good with ice water
and placed it around the back of my neck plus take salt pills.
All the tractors had reverse eng. fans to push dust an heat away so heat from just sitting on top of that tranny & eng. was pretty hot added to out side air temp. 125-130
Don't know for sure of the temp running that D9 but if you leaned your head down for a couple of sec. your safety glass lens would drip haft full of sweat and dust if your were pushing dirt & rock. My hottest day waiting in line for my pay check 126 and blew out the AC on my vehicle driving home 11 mile. I open the wind wing the heat felt like a blast from a coke oven. Wow I shut the wind wing so fast closed my drivers window 2/3rd.
Oh and the wonderful days of a cool winner on a D9 when it's 16 degrees was no piece of cake either, I was off and down in front of that radiator to try an warm up long enough to run about 20 minutes longer.
The temps were about the same listed as far 60 miles away at Indio in the new paper.

Her one of the little truck at the mine max load was 350 tons.
I spent 20 years in the trash business and the last ten years doing asphalt, neither place is cool in the summer. At least doing asphalt I get more breaks.
If the county landfill wasn't like all other Gov't jobs, "Depends who you know" I'd be in charge of one of the landfills. There's two close by. I interviewed two years ago for a Mgr. position and was in line for the job when they hired a Relative to a high up Mgr. instead.
I was pissed he's not even MOLO certified and I am. Oh well that's Gov't for you.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

What a miserable summer for a college kid. I never appreciated the cold beer at the end of the day more, though.
SO I'LL BE OFF THE RADAR THOSE 5 DAYS.
That's the reflection of the shade over the pool... its just a bunch of sticks, laid out for shade...
for a Foo-Foo drink with an umbrella, Etc. And this song playing on the Boom Box:*

Zac Brown Band – Toes "Toes" as written by and Shawn Eric/durrette Mullins.... I got my toes in the water, a$$ in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Well, the plane touched down just about three o'clock
And the city's still on my mind
Bikinis and palm trees danced in my head
I was still in the baggage line
Concrete and cars are there own prison bars like this life I'm living in
But the plane brought me farther
I'm surrounded by water
And I'm not going back again
I got my toes in the water, a$$ in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
And if it weren't for tequila and pretty senoritas
I'd have no reason to stay
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Yeah I'm leaving GA
Gonna lay in the hot sun and roll a big fat one
And grab my guitar and play
Four days flew by like a drunk Friday night
As the summer drew to an end
They can't believe that I just couldn't leave
And I bid adieu to my friends
Because my bartender she's from the islands
Her body's been kissed by the sun
And coconut replaces the smell of the bar
And I don't know if its her or the rum
I got my toes in the water, a$$ in the sand
Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand
Life is good today Life is good today
Adiós and vaya con Dios
A long way from GA
Yes and all the muchachas they call me big poppa
When I throw pesos their way
Adiós and vaya con Dios
A long way from GA
Someone do me a favor and pour me some Jaeger
And I'll grab my guitar and play
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Going home now to stay
The senoritas don't care-o when there's no dinero
You got no money to stay
Adiós and vaya con Dios
Going home now to stay
(Just gonna prop up by the lake)
And put my a$$ in a lawn chair
Toes in the clay
Not a worry in the world a PBR on the way
Life is good today
Life is good today
Me, I'm a mountain guy - although the Appalachians are a bit small compared to the Rockies. If I never saw the ocean again it would not bother me a bit, but keep me from a cool stream or lake in the mountains, some trout fishin and some tall pines, and I would be a very unhappy camper!
