i just got this old truck for 300 bucks and its really cool but it lacks in the horse power or pony power i should say. it has a little tiny carburator witch i know is probably the root of my short comings, but does anyone know some quick and easy things i can do so that when i take of from a stop light the soccer mom mini-van doesn't go racing by me?

There isn't any majic or easy fix. Start reading this group and learn about carburetors, intake manifolds, egine displacement and stroke, timing, gear ratios and soon you will find your own way. If you learn the basics, you'll know more about vehicles than 99% of the people on the road. If you just want to stomp on it and burn the pavement, buy a vehicle from someone that has gone through these steps.
