351 v. 302
I have a 1995 F-150 Extended Cab with a 351W and AOD. Pulls decently up until about 45-50 MPH. I raced a friend in his 1995 F-150 Regular Cab with a 302 and got him by half a truck length but it wasn't a true race (rolling starts, etc, where he has the advantage). So the power isn't dramatic over a 302, but I'll have a lot more torque than he does, say pulling a load and what not. But, he is a lot lighter than I am too (reg. cab short bed).

302's are nice because they are cheap to build up and rebuild. 302's will last just as long too if taken care of. If I were you I would go for the 300-6 they are easy to work on and will last 200,000 miles or more even if not taken care of very well.
