It's hard to tell if there clogged but if ur getting good pressure at the Rail then u might have a problem with a injecter. U can test them to atleast see if there working

When you say "no codes" does that mean no codes as in no reaction from the computer? or no codes as in you get "system pass" across the board?

Someone set the base timing without pulling the spout jumper first?

Pinging suggests the timing is to far advanced, a condition that would result in low power even surge some if far enough out ahead of where it should be.

Set base timing to 10btdc with spout removed, then while watching timing mark remove and replace jumper verify computer has control over timing. Probably does but a quick easy test to make sure its doing what its supposed to a minute.

i have played with the timing and still get the same if i retard the dist it has no power and if i advance it it pings worse and no power. i have already changed the timing chain and it was very stretched and have pulled codes and got system passed. also no vacuum leaks this has been an ongoing problem that started out as pinging on big hills and has gotten progressively worse to the point that its not drivable and i don't want to buy injectors without making sure that is the problem.

Just to verify...You did remove the spout connector by the hood hinge when setting the base timing?

To add to My4fordtrucks question,

What do the plugs look like, rich? or lean?

Had a compression test lately?.... how many miles on it?

Might be the injectors but wouldn't jump right to that conclusion, at least not right off the bat.
Fuel filter been replaced lately?

Need to check fuel pressure.

If the fuel pressure regulator is bad, it can cause same symptoms. I know. It took me some time to diagnose same issue with pinging and hot starting problem.

ok here we go and i may forget a few things that i have done. new plugs all clean, fuel filter, fuel regulator, coil, wires, cap and rotor, egr valve, tps, mass air flow sensor, dist, ignition mod, pcm, timing chain, the cat has low back pressure and new o2 sensor 180,000 miles and good compression all in about 2 years and if it was compression it would not idle good

Unplug the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator. The pressure should increase to 39-45 PSI.

Snap the throttle open a few times with the line on you should see the pressure rise.

Low compression across all cylinders would idle normally but not have much power. Not to repeat myself but was the spout removed when setting the base timing? It wasn't on the list and it will make a huge difference.

Perhaps someone with more experience than me can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong but if all of your cylinders are over 155 psi you may have a carbon buildup in your heads. Especially because you say the problem started out slow and has gotten worse over time. Maybe try something to clean the carbon out. If your compression is too high you will have pinging when using regular gas.
When I did a compression test of my 5.8 my highest reading was 148. Most of my cylinders read 140 or less. Then again my truck had 203,000 Km when I did it.
I hope this helps.
