Just got a brand new 3.5l ecoboost xlt screw. Truck looks awesome and drives so smooth, but between the time i test drove it and the time I signed the papers, a check engine light came on. I was at the dealership for hours and the salesman said it was probably a sensor got knocked out of place because one idiots in the back power washed the engine bay when they were getting it ready for me. The truck runs fine as far as I know, but I did tell the salesman on the test drive that the acceleration didn't knock my socks off like I thought it would. I figured it was because I was used to my Charger R/T and the EB has the stock 3.15s. I used to own a RAM 1500 with 3.92s and and anti spin diff, and if felt like it pulled harder than the EB. I'm kind of hoping that the check engine light is due to the turbo not working at full capacity and they'll fix it quick and the trucks power will knock my socks off, relatively speaking for a truck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping its not a lemon. Just want the issue resolved quickly and put this first experience with this beautiful truck behind me. Just had to vent a little
If I was looking for take off acceleration I'd opt for the taller gear......in no way will it compare to a Charger gears or not......hope it works out for you
We will hope with you that you didn't get a lemon. And, on the acceleration, it will keep getting a bit stronger with the first 2,000 to 3,000 miles. But, I still have my socks on.
