In response to: rcp1936 "I would like to see another reliable source"
"I will be sceptical until then"
Itook these photos today....They are still there with guards....Also if you see on some of the close ups they show the hoods up on a few......
Does anyone see their truck there?

My information is that up untill the end of last week some shifts working only 4 hours and the 4 hrs worked means just standing there as the union garantees 4 hrs a day.
The frames coming into the plant have the changes applied and they hope to be on line asap. There is another yard in portsmouth and chesapeake that is loaded up with new units also. I did see today 3 tractor trailers loaded with new F150 leaving town. I don't know if these are new from the plant or ones that were sitting on hold......I feel this matter will be done shortly.........and the units rolling to you F150 people out there.
Yesterday when I took the pictures I saw no trucks leaving or arriving so I don't know how they were moving yesterday....either in or out...

In the picture (00475) of the "holding yards" the black mat that was placed down has actual yellow line parking lines on them. How could Ford prepare these lots so professionally right down to the parking slot lines in such a short period of time? This took a lot of planning and manpower as well as big bucks. The Ford "higher ups" must of been expecting these delays. Try finding 3 yards big enough to hold thousands of vehicles replete with fencing and lighting over night. I guess Ford is really treating this new release as if their *** depended on it. GREAT "INVESTIGATIVE WORK" AND PICTURES.

Did you read the sign in one of the pixs showing temp parking lot solutions? Hard to believe there is such a company.
The black matting appears to be at the entry point where the street ends before the parking lot begins. The fencing is new and the lighting is new.
I guess the matting keeps the tires clean as the trucks are actually driven one by one to the off site storage lot. Gotta keep them looking new.
I have heard this hold involves approx 10,000 trucks.

Ford would make up a company name just so they can park their trucks... they hire the pros...
yes it is a real parking solutions company.
http://www.american-parking-solutions.com
Kinda like they hired someone to produce that faulty Bracket...
I am surprised no one brought up the fact that the problem is with a bracket that is supplied by a 3rd party contractor.

I fail to see the signifance of the fact that the faulty part is from a third party. First, as the prime contractor/manufacturer/distributor/guarantor, FoMoCo is by all accounts where "the buck stops."
More to the point, I don't think anyone in this thread is trying to use this to slam Ford. If the allegations are true, and the preponderance of evidence seems to suggest they are, Ford has a medium-large headache on their hands, as do anyone who was expecting to take possession of a 2004 truck anytime soon. Well worth reporting on IMO...

artsbest, you say "there is definitely a PROBLEM". what proof do you offer. the photos show a large quantity of 04 f150's parked at the staging area. So what? How do you deduce all those trucks require repair? your own post says "it looks like ford carefully prepared the parking lot". Agreed, long ago ford would have clearly anticipated the need to store vehicles until the new product launch. I repeat from an earlier post , there is nothing on Blue Oval News concerning a problem and if there was a sliver of a chance it was true and if you know anything about blue oval news (they dont back down from FMC on anything), then you can probably figure out the above product quality allegations are extremely dubious. just because thousands of trucks are in a parking lot doesnt mean they are broken. Reminds me of going to a pro football game. Thousands of vehicles in the lot at game time, but not many left 2 hours after the final whistle. If anyone has any kind of evidence concerning the alleged problem , pls post. Otherwise, all we know is ford has a big field full of new trucks.

And for what reason would Ford store in this area at 3 large sites a bunch of trucks......This is doing nothing but costing them money. As I stated in a much earlier post a Local newspaper article has already been written showing the first owner recieving the first 2004 F150 here in Virginia Beach. He is the only owner of such a vehicle to my knowledge. The balance of trucks that were delivered to the ford dealership along with his is still on the dealership lot. In the back out of sight to the public. Just because blue oval doesn't report it doesn't meen anything to me.
The problem is a part having to with steering, a bolt or something has cracked. Could be from poor quality or over tourque but it has a problem. To my knowledge they are keeping the trucks close to the plant so if a change is needed with this part the trucks would be brought in one by one to the plant and corrected. They do not want this on the street if there is a problem. Lots of testing still going on.
