Need Help -Smoke and a Stall
Hey you all, need some help. Got a 92 F-150 4x4 with a 351 and I was backing out of the driveway and she stalled which is highly unusual. I attempted to restart with no luck and smoke started coming from the area of my parking break whilew the key was on. I feared a fire so pulled the battery cable.
After I settled down a bit I went looking. Looked under the hood and under the dash and can see no signs of burning, but sure can smell it both under the hood and around the firewall, drivers side. I hooked the battery back up and couldn't get it to smoke again and still have a no start.
Any suggestions, this is a head scratcher for me and I need to get the old truck going again. Thanks in advance for any help

The PCM is right down there by the E-brake, I fear that your PCM is fried.
The PCM is located behind the kick panel, and goes through the firewall, and on the firewall side there is a bunch of wires coming out. That may be why you saw smoke on both sides.
Take the PCM (computer) out and inspect it, look at the wire loom for burned wires or melted plastic.
Not sure what the computer will look like but smell it to see if it smells like smoke. Do this and we'll go from there.

Did any fuses blow? If so what were they to. Try checking that out. If the fuse blew technically the smoke would not start until you replaced it. Just my $.02. Hope it helps.
