Reset this right before my commute this morning. It is 35 miles across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. All freeway. Cruise is set on 79 which I ran most of the way. There was some stop and go for construction.
Pretty impressive I think for a large vehicle driven at a pretty high rate of speed.
That is pretty impressive. When I first saw the subject line, I read it as getting 2.7 MPG. That's what caught my attention.
Even on my 3.5EB, I see frequent excursions into the 25-30 MPG range. Obviously it can't sustain that, and it's typically going downhill, or more commonly very moderate speed on level terrain.
I will also comment that I've found that when I'm hill climbing, if I just shift into a lower gear (via manual mode), and maintain 1500+ RPM during the hill climb, I will get better mileage than if I have the tranny set to "auto" (any mode).
