punching holes
i have a 97 super cab 4x4 and was wondering if i was to punch holes right before my muffler to really make my truck louder if that would have any negative effects. i figure it is probly a easy and cheap way to make my truck a good bit louder

don't punch holes just do what I did, take out the muffler and go to advanced or some place like that and get some extension pipe and some connectors and slap that in instead. Won't pass any kind of inspection but neither will holes drilled into the thing.

Poking holes in a perfectly good exhaust pipe is not the thing to do. A leaky exhaust system is not healthy. Change or bypass the muffler.
After saying all that, when I was young and foolish and broke I poked holes in the muffer on my '47 chevy. Did sound pretty good, but my father-in-law saw me do it and just shook his head.
