Meet Brutus - 1978 SuperCab 4X4 F150 351M C6

This truck was about an hour and 20 minute drive from my house. Has been sitting in a shed for 5 years. Was finally able to drive it home on the third trip. Changed the fuel pump and fuel line to the carb, new battery.

Here is what it looked like in the shed:

Tail gate is perfect, cab is rock solid. Great homemade bumper guard.

Needs brakes all around, ebrake cable, carb kit. Wipers aren't working, could be a fuse or wiring. Stinks - mice got into the glove compartment and shredded the owners manual. There is a broken leaf spring on the rear passenger side.

Thoughts?

Comments?

Questions?

Thanks, Brian.

The farmer I bought it from has owned it since 1978. He bought it when it was 2 - 3 months old. He only used it to haul feed and tow farm equipment.

Very true - I have been looking around Ottawa and Northern NY for a year for a good truck at the right price (I am nothing if not cheap ).

Algonquin is beautiful. Great place for a backwoods canoe trip. Let me know the next time you are headed this way!

Nice truck and great find Brutus. It sure is nice having someone help with cleaning that big beast isn't it? Nice thing is that both the owners manual and the glove box liners are being reproduced, so they should be to hard to track down. Heck you may even get lucky and find an NOS one somewhere for that matter. I'm sure numberdummy or mikeo0o0o can help with finding them, that is if they exist NOS.
