With all this talk about v6, what is being referred to the gas or diesel? I found a v6 gasser above with 100k, that's seems low right? But it is a 93.....

Before 1997, a 6 cylinder Ford pickup or van would have an inline 300 cubic inch six (called I6, not a V6, and also referred to as a 4.9 liter six). The 300 was a good solid truck engine and can't be compared to the 4.2 liter V6 used as the base engine in 1997 and later. The "modular" V8's were also introduced in 1997, so there was a complete changeover in engines for 1997.
I still would try for a newer truck but if the '93 is legitimately in great shape it might be OK but in PA it could be a rustbucket. I can't reference the craigslist ad so it's either a bad reference or the ad has been pulled. My son bought a '95 BMW from Pittsburgh a few years ago and it had some serious rust issues so I'm assuming they use salt in the winter there.
I don't think an Astro or Aerostar would give enough living space inside and trailer towing capacity is pretty limited. The seller of this box truck does not know what he's selling if he's calling the engine a V6. So I would look more closely at maintenance.
I also see some rust on the front fenders and would check every seam on the body. Rust can be covered up by a cheap bondo-and-screen job and will look good until winter comes.

The complete changeover year was 98. In 97, you could still get pushrod V8's in the trucks and vans. Change started in 97 in the trucks with the new F150 body style. The older 97 F150's were still in the lineup that year.
I don’t know where in the world you have the choice to buy an Econoline or a Pakistani minivan. Maybe the military left some Econolines behind in Afghanistan.

It would seem last date of a thread posting eludes newbies on most any forum--too much in a rush to post something, anything for unknown reasons.
The reasons are known. It is called spam. The poster who brought up this thread 7 years from the dead was posting from Pakistan to promote the business linked in the post.
