Ok guys/gals, I need some input here. Working with on 06 e350 with 6.0 powerstroke. A/c system will not work. Has new high and low pressure switches, compressor orifice tube dryer and condenser. The system pulls good vacuum and takes is full 3.38 lbs of charge. As of now it still will not engage the clutch any longer than 10 to 15 seconds. Have tried lessor and greater charges but still 10 to 15 secs and shuts off. Have power thru both pressure switches and to compressor. Any ideas from anyone. All fuses have been checked as well as relays by the way. Oh drls not coming on either. No change if you turn on the headlight as well.
High head pressures,, pcm shuts it down . Low low pressures,, pcm shuts it down . Engine over temp, wide open throttle, and others . Pcm shuts it down . Look. At you're pressures as a starting point . Have someone start it while you watch the gauges .
Is your cooling fan working? You may have a restriction in the system as well. If the high side pressure climbs quickly due to a restriction or a fan not working, that may explain why it only runs for 10-15 seconds.
Also make sure you are charging the correct amount. A lot of vans have 2 specifications, one for the main air system, and one for if the van is equipped with a rear unit as well. Be sure you know what your van has. 3.38lbs sounds like a van with a front and rear air system.

That is why I said he needs to read the pressures .
