Got back from our 1,400 mile 4 day whirlwind trip of the PNW and our quick stop by Harbor Freight to pick up my fuel pressure tester. Got it assembled, hooked up while engine was cool and off. Had zero pressure showing. Started engine, immediately came up to 20-22hg... Revving engine gets the gauge in the neighborhood of 30-35hg, commensurate with the engine revving. Shut down engine, still showing 20hg. The question is this... How long should that gauge register pressure? 30 minute? 2 hours? 24 hours? 24 months? Hahahaha...
Thanks for your best information and assistance. Regards...
What about a bad fuel pressure regulator? Would that reflect the psi below 30-35 while idling (while it is reaching 30-35 while revving) and a loss of all pressure in the span of a few hours?
