New guy help

So I bought a new intake for my truck which I believed to be a 351w however on my motor the thermostat and radiotor hose attach the the front of the engine block and all the intakes I find for the 351w have the thermostat housing area on the front of the intake. I was wondering if the 351w ever had the thermostat on the front of engine block or if I have a 351c somehow? The reason I say somehow is because my truck is a 1981 and the 351c wasn't produced that year at all to my knowledge.

if the thermastat is on the block, its a 351c, someone could of out it in the 81 as its the same bolt pattern as a small block, 302, 351w, 460 all have thermastat in intake manifold
