Hello just found the FTE site and it looks like a great ford truck site.Looks like it covers all of them.
My Dad and I just picked up a '54 F-100 a couple of weeks ago and are hopefully going to get started on it in the next couple of weeks.I also have a '03 F-250 ex-cab FX-4 PSD,and a '01 Sport-Trac so this site is right up my alley,in fact my cars are Fords too.
Anyway I'm sure I will have some questions for you guy once we start our project. and maybe I can answer a few also.
Later RPMSRX
Welcome! Looks like the right kind of guy in the right place. Only watch out for some of the characters on this site - they'll try to convince you to swap the '54 body on that '03 chassis or some such other foolish venture..............
Hey welcome! As far as old trucks, this site is bar-none. You're going to completely restore your truck back to original right? Anyways start posting some questions. -4speed
Seems like new blood on the horizon here....remember to ask as many questions you can think of and there will be somebody here with an answer....don't forget to post some pics of the truck before you tear her apart....welcome to the site and let the restoration begin for you....

don't be lured by the dark side, keep it as stock as possible. have fun and ask all the questions you want, you want always get an answer, but what the h**l.
Thanks for the welcome, glad I found the place.
As for what we are going to do to the '54 is still uncertain,it don't have a motor or trans. in it so we will probly get a 302 with an a.o.d. trans to put in.Don't know yet,but the dark side may be calling us!
I do have some pics of it so i will scan them soon and get them posted.
Anyway I'm at work this morning so I better get to it and get something done.
Thanks RPMSRX
Welcome to FTE! Tim has given you a good idea with the '03 frame swap, but you may want to consider the '01 Sport-Trac first!
The dark side is calling...calling...can you hear it? There is was... and there again!!! Post pics! (especially ones with the Sawzall, heat wrench or welder it action!)
Yessssss, come to the darkside!! It is already in your mind...didn't you say 302?? LOL! Welcome!!! Whatever you decide, you've come to the right place! We loooooooove peekshures! I second the sawzall request.

Now just think how you'll feel after chopping up a piece of history and YOUR child asks, "Daddy, why did you cut up the truck so it can never be like it was when grandpa was little?" I know I wouldn't want to have to answer a distraught child of mine who asked that question.
A flathead would be simply awesome in that truck along with a great old four speed. Imaging the heads that will turn when the distinctive sound of that flatty cruises by. You'll be telling your truck's story twice a day to folks who just want to be near your restored piece of automotive times gone by.
Nothing like taking a ride in a REAL truck, finding out what it was like for your parents and grandparents to get their work done with the available tools. Ahhhhh yessss. What a great feeling - bringing one of these old jewels back from the edge and seeing it just as it was when it started its life work.
A word of warning. Don't put in the girly 302. If you do, the only dark side you'll see will be from the cloud of smoke from big-block-burnt rubber.
Forget George. He's just talking about the bigger, rarer trucks. Besides, 1/2 tons are alot better looking hopped up and chopped up than those bulky big rigs.
You know guys, it's sad everytime a new guy comes here. What about the earlier vehicles! Why doesn't everybody get those instead?
