engine dies after acceleration
Hi,
My ford F350 7.3L Diesel (not a power stroke)runs rough and dies after it's reved up. It started on a road trip and died as I was coming up to make a turn, I took my foot off the accelerator petal and it died. got it started again and it ran for a half a mile or so and died. this continued till I got home. I checked the fuel pump (Mechanical) and it has 24HG of vacuum which seems fine, I changed the fuel filter (it was full) it looked clean as I had recently changed it. Started it up and it does the same thing, Like it's staving for fuel.
Need help on what to do or check next!

this happens to the ip once in a while.it's getting gummed up.remove the fuel filter.fill it with auto trans fluid and run the engine for a couple mins.
do this again but this time just run the engine for 1 min and then shut it off.leave it overnight and the next day it should be right as rain again without anymore stalling after decel.
