LCD Odometer
How easy would it be for a crooked person or dealer to roll back
one of the LCD odometers? It seems to me that if there is a battery
or capacitor holding the value, removing the voltage would cause it
to zero or reset. And why did Ford go back to the old style in 97?

Yup, hes right, it can't be rolled back.
Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, and coming are some BFG MEATS
Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
92' Thunderbird 3.8L V-6 FOR SALE!
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter baby.
The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L
Primary rig is:

Why DID Ford go back to the old style? I haven't had any problems with the LCD odo, nor heard of any problems. A little strange since the other newer trucks have digital odo's. Just curious!

1992 was the first year for F-Series and Econoline Vans.
Going forward to 999,999.9 it will reset to zero. Only a qualified speedo shop can do it. It's highly illegal to do.
