The truck just got a head job, shorties, and a smog pump delete. She is running like a champ. Drove her the hour home and she was flying. Running better than she has in years. The mechanic I hired to do the job completely bypassed the vacuum canister (I hear is a big no no) when he pulled the smog tubes and TAB and TAD on the vacuum hoses. When I got home and wanted to hook it all up I noticed the TAB is gone and the wire that connects to it, is just laying there. Asked him about it and he said he can't find it but the before pictures show it was clearly there. Can I get a TAB solenoid out of any f-series truck and it work? I don't know if the autoparts store would carry something like that. I found one about an hour away TAB and TAD and the bracket it comes on for only $20 but its out of a 302 according to the seller. Want to get the TAB, TAD, and EGR hooked back up and get rid of this CEL. They are all electronically hooked up at the moment but no vacuum lines.
TAB and TAD just need to be electrically connected no vacuum lines necessary, but the complete EGR system except for the tube connecting it to the exhaust needs to be present and functional to prevent codes, but the EGR valve must be blocked at the intake manifold to prevent fresh air from entering when the valve opens.
