Hey 68Mercury keep us in mind when you parts this one out as im looking for a grill and im sure I will need more when it turns up
I won't be pitching any usefull parts. some people call it hoarding, I call it collecting for future use. I have an 86 E150 gutted extended that I am jamming with parts. not sure how much I want to sell. I want my 86 E150 shorty to look like a 76 so I may use the dash parts off this one, I like the key on the dash instead of on the column.
I jumped on this one quick because of the manual pedals. sellers dad was the original owner ordered it in late 1975, homebuilt camperized in 1978.
No worries just keep us in mind if your going to part with the grill or here of one for sale I will be in the state in August and I will hunting for part while im there
Cheers Darin
last 2 pre 79 Econolines I've seen, were bought by me. only about 10 months apart. there must be more left in the US, Canada only have 10% as much populations as the US, and we salt the crap out of our roads.
wife was a little excited about me buying this, she didn't ask fro a divorce but she might be thinking about it. how could I leave it alone
put a deposit down on something else today, not a van but a truck with a lot of parts on it that I have been looking for. 90 F350 4x4 cab/chassis seized 460 ZF5spd , southern cab/doors , minty red lariat interior , and new carpet. sitting for almost 5yrs . had to pay $100 more than I wanted to but hey............................ now she will kill me.
"so many choices", YES, you are correct sir, hah !! I personally would go for the 460 and a 5 speed. That would be a serious combination. I am very anxious to hear how your project turns out and will watch/stay in touch. If you need any tips or suggestions, I'd be glad to tell you from my personal conversion experience. Good luck
I have 3 kids under 12 yrs old, and whatever I build has to accommodate the whole gang.
I like the 460 5spd idea best too, but there are external forces that are in play too.
I have a 1990 clubwagon xlt with the mint donor red interior, but I'm thinking of the 76 dash and parts to keep things simple.
now I need to thin down the fleet to 3 75-91 vans. ok 1 storage van too.........
PM me some of your conversion ideas, I have other choices, was even considering a 6.0 powerstroke 5spd auto for a while.
