Down here Chandler. Came down to enjoy the heat...............
Getting ready to go back to NY in a couple of days. Put the house on the market with a high enough price so it won't sell right away. !@#$% health insurance premiums are killing the finances. The "affordable Health Care Act " is really unaffordable.
How are things up your way?
Well you've gotten a break from the heat yesterday and today at least.
Things are well up here. Staying consistently busy with trying to make sure everyone's cell phones keep reception and occasionally getting some time to myself. Took a trip to Asheville NC with the Mrs. last week and had the chance to offroad in a 2015 Range Rover Supercharged. There's a driving school at the Biltmore Estate and it was well worth the cost. That's one VERY capable machine.
That sounds like fun. My son in law's father moved from NY to Ashville (NC is getting invaded by New Yorkers). He said the Biltmore should be on a must visit list.
Yes, the Biltmore is a must-see. It's very grand without being opulent. Old world charm for sure.
Dumb-phones will always be around. The older technologies are now running on fiber instead of hard-line copper with some help from the newer techs. Apparently the...cough cough...older folks and drug dealers still use the older techs
Well . not being a drug dealer......
Wife did give me her old trac phone which works ok. The other one I had would work ok in NY. Down here I'd have to go down to NC or to Martinsville to use it. Cell tower 1/2 mile away, another 3 miles and no signal.....

Right...I knew you fell into one of those two categories!
Signal is a funny thing. Typical coverage with no obstructions is about a 2 mile radius from the tower. However, every tree, building, etc degrades the travel of the radio frequency that much more.
Nice pics Chandler. Doesn't even look like you were in the mud.
Signal is finicky . In NY used to get a lot of TV stations before HD now lucky to get 2. Lots of stations come through here in VA.
You're right, it doesn't. In most cases it was about hub deep, and the traction control only interfered once. The amount of side-hill off camber this thing can traverse was impressive. We were on a 28* side slope at one point and making a turn and it felt completely planted. It was fun teeter-tottering on two wheels through the ruts too...all the while in a $115k vehicle with just 800 miles on it.
Sounds like fun.
OT: No Confederate flags, no flag on license plates. Stuart named after Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart will have to be renamed as JEB Stuart Highway - Rt 58, Rt 11 Lee Highway will now be called Obama Highway. Washington and Lee University will change it's name to Washington and McAuliffe Highway. The list can go on and on....
Ugh, the flag thing is absurd. I lean to the right, not as much as others, and it still boils my blood. It seems that history can be easily erased if we want it to, but only when it's "proper" to do so.
