Hello everyone,
This is my first post and im going to need some help. What I have is a 1994 F150 extra cab XLT. Pretty straight body and a good truck for a restoration project. The truck runs good , but I also use it to pull my boat. The problem im having is my boat is a 16x54 crestliner utility boat, Not real heavy all aluminum. But pulling my boat it seems to keep the RPM's real high. How can I get more power out of my truck. It has the original 5.0 and I hadn't done anything to the motor, So where is a good place to start. Thanks and appreciate any help you can give me,
This forum is a great resource, but searching it will be your friend. There are already a number of threads listing performance upgrades for your 5.0l engine. Also there is an engine section that should have a bunch of good information. Rather than just engine upgrades, suspension, braking and gearing might be other areas to consider if you're going to be doing a lot of towing. Welcome to the forum and best of luck upgrading your truck. It looks like a pretty clean vehicle to start with.
Thank you mefast. This sight has already helped me a lot and has given me some ideas on where I want to go with my truck. looking forward to reading up some more and have some future photos of the F150
