Good Morning Wyoming, Rick, BK, Shaun, and all!! Happy Sat # 3 !! Wednesday for all working folks!
My brother called me last night, told me that my Uncle Danny passed away in his sleep.. when I was 6 yrs old, Danny was fresh out of high school, and worked as a gas station mechanic.. he moved in with us which started my love for cool cars and fords.. he had a '49 Ford coupe, medium green with chrome spot lights, with purple dash lights, and lakeside exhaust. He was your typical rebel wearing jeans, boots, white t-shirt with the cigs rolled in his sleeve, and sported a "DA".. real James Dean" type. When I messed up with something, he would back me up (lie through his teeth) to save me from a whippin.. LOL! I remember one time in 1966, I traded shoes for a day with my friend, my wing-tips for his Beatle Boots.. Danny came to pick me up from school, (in his brand new convertible Merc Comet Caliente, blue metallic, white buckets, 4sp 289, chrome rims) took one look at those boots and said "your mom is gonna kill you when she sees those.. I dunno if I can get you outta this one" and he laughed like hell. See ya around, Uncle Dan... and Thank You for some unforgettable times in my life!!

Now, how many of these young Ford truck fans will know what a DA is or even Beatle Boots are? I had a friend in school that had a 64 baby blue Caliente convertible with a white interior 4spd and a 289.
