Check engine Code
I took my 98' 4.6 4x4 Expo to Auto Zone to have my check engine light looked at to get the error code. They told me it was a dealer specific code. Does anyone know what P1401 error code means? It also showed this message along with that error code: DPFE EGR Circuit High Input. Help.

Something with the DPFE sensor and the egr valve. The sensor communicates info between the EGR and the PCM. Sorry I don't have more info that this. You might try a web search of "P1401" and see what you come up with.

I couldn't imagine too hard since the egr is on the top of the engine. I've heard others complain about the DPFE sensor saying it is an antiquated part so you might want to start with it.

I searched the web and found this definition of P1401: Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit High Voltage. What does this mean and how can I fix it? I just want to get all the info I need before I take it to the dealer and put it on thier diagnostic machine.
