I have a 2001 V-10 and need to know what fitting sizes to get for a trany temp guage and a vac guage both are z-series auto meter.

 

I just purchased the same 2 gauges for my 87. They came with everything I needed, I also got the dual pod and some spray dye to paint the pod to match the color of my interior. I installed my trans temp in the pan, brazed it in with bronze. This is where the directions said to put it, many people on the internet are installing them in the trans line somewhere with a T adapter. I think the only logical place to get the temp for the fluid is as close to the pickup in the tranny as possible. The hottest readings they are getting are up to 150 degrees which is wrong. All the tranny shops I have asked and the Ford dealer said my C-6 should run 150-210 in normal operating and higher when towing, if it gets up to 250 I should stop and let it cool and buy a trans cooler. Mine runs about 180 when it is 90 degrees out. It got up to 110 for a few days and on a long trip and a bunch of city driving it hit 205. It is a pain to mount the sensor in the pan but if you want to get a good reading I would put it there.

I updated to Mass air on my pickup and had a spare vac. port on the intake that was no longer used, I connected my gauge there with the supplied hardware.
