I pulled the engine yesterday...

I pulled the engine yesterday for a refresh/rebuild. ARP head studs/bolts are first on the purchase list. I plan on replacing all the gaskets (obviously), the belt tensioner, water pump, idler pulley, injector o rings, glow plug harness (had some cracked connectors), and alternator.

Any suggestions or advice on what to look for during the cleaning and inspection process? Should new injector cups be installed? Any "must have" parts that I am overlooking? I definitely want to get the bottom end all taken care of while the engine is accessible.

Thanks

I would say seal up the bed plate really well and throw in some fresh lifters.

How many miles? It's out anyways, if you can get the seal tool I'd pull the rear cover and do the lifters.

Estimated 180K miles on engine.

I completely disassembled the engine for inspection, cleaning, and repairs.
