Speedometer not working and OD light flashes.
Shifts into OD just fine.
Replaced speed sensor on top of differential and speed sensor on top of transmission. Still doesnt work.
Heard there is another speed sensor inside the transmission??
Would need transmission shop to repair that one?
Or maybe theres another solution?
Thanks
My speepdo went out and it was a broken wire, dog chewed it. I don't know the ohm specs, but you can check for resistance(some is good), and short to ground, or short to the pair. Just remove connector at axle and check with meter.
hook a scan tool to the OBD port and see if it will read ABS module.
if the ABS module looses connection you will loose speedometer, odometer and cruise control, the ABS light in the dash will come on, and the OD light will blink

Thank you sir I will check this. ABS module is located on front wheels, rear wheel or is there a sensor on each one?
I just got it out of body shop had a pretty good lick on the front end.
Im thinking my abs light has always been on??
ABS module is under the ABS pump, which is under the driver side battery.
i think i fixed mine today.
i had a broken wire on the slow plow headlight plug that was laying on the ABS pump and shorting out. once i removed the plow light module and hooked the headlights up the way they were from the factory, everything started working again.
the reason i said to check the ABS module is because one of the guys in the excursion forum had the same problem, and he fixed it by replacing the ABS module.

Whats the best way to get to to the abs module, or abs pump under the battery? Take headlight out and go from there or remove battery?
