how do you use the

5th wheel prep? do you have to buy a special hitch? Or can you but an insert that will let you bolt one on? What happens to the poor man that can't buy the high dollar hitch that just falls in? I'm assuming it just falls in. Thats the way my goose-neck works. Thanks for the info. I'm was just trying to help out a bud that needs a trailer moved.

There are now companies that make hitches that are for the Factory prep. other than reese/ford.

None of them are "cheap" per se... Most of the people I talk to with the B&W hitches are happy with them.

If you have a truck accessory place or RV place around you, might be a good idea to at least look at your options so you can make up your mind.

What kind of trailer? Gooseneck? The ball is available through Ford, but if it is a 5th wheel, lots have the B&W Companion that fits the factory holes. Absolutely fantastic hitch. And 100% Made In America with American Steel!

Here's another option for you, but would be better for towing one's own fiver than a buddy's. You would only need to buy the goose ball for the prep, and this mounts to the ball.

If you are looking for the Gooseneck ball that fits into the Gooseneck prep package on our Fords, take a look at this link: Replacement Ball for Reese Elite Series and Factory Ford Gooseneck Hitches - 2-5/16" Reese ***** RP19311
If you are looking for an adapter for the 5th wheel prep package them look at this link: Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs Reese Accessories and Parts RP30156 as this will allow you to use your existing 5th wheel hitch.

I have the Anderson for my setup. And I also have the ford gooseneck ball from ford. So I guess I'll just unbolt my Anderson stuff and use it. He as a fifth wheel hitch I was trying to bolt up to my truck. But with the prep package, it's useless.
