Your batteries could be showing voltage but still be bad....you can't measure the CCA's which is what really matters to turn the motor over. All the clicking you mention sounds like dead battery symptoms, and the way you described them dying while you were driving, sounds like alternator to me.
Can you get the batteries fully charged? If so, and they start the truck....read what they are saying then. If serious drop, or even overload (like 14 volts or more, maybe 16) then the alt is bad.
