When I was a kid, my dad had a set of cone style hubcaps like from a 57 Plymouth on the 16 rims of his 1956 ford f250. I'm trying to locate a set of 4 of them now but cannot find them anywhere in 16", only in 15". Is there anything exceptional about the stock f250 steel wheels from 1956? Can they accept a 15" Plymouth hubcap? Or maybe they were aftermarket 16" CSPs that resembled the Plymouth cone style.
The 16" one piece F-250 wheel in 1956 was the same K-H 31282/Ford 7RD 1015B that had been sourced on F-2s/250s since 1948. Plymouth in 1957 and 1958 is shown to use 14" Motor Wheel Corporation wheels. They used 15" up to 1956, then returned to that in 1960 on some models. So I bet your dad bought himself some aftermarket cones from J.C. Whitney or one of the others. Back in the day the Plymouth cones, Olds Fiesta three bars, and Dodge Lancer four bar spinners were the hot tickets. Stu
All 1957/59 Chrysler/Dodge/DeSoto & Plymouth came with 14" wheels. I cannot recall if 1960's also came with 14" wheels.
1953 Oldsmobile 98 Fiesta was 1953 only (has a wrap around windshield). All other 1953 88/98 Olds' have a flat windshield. Fiesta renamed Starfire in 1954.
wow. thank you guys so much for the info. not good for me though because I cant find 16" cone hubcaps like the plumouth ones anywhere. I have a couple snapshots of my dads truck when I was a kid but thats all.
Heres a photo I took in 1979. The cab and bed is 1958 but the running gear is 1956 F250. Its hard to tell detail of the hubcaps in the photo but looks like the Plymouth cone to me, but apparently not on a 16" rim. Possibly, its a smaller a smaller cone hubcap from something else.

It's not a hubcap.
Hubcap only covers the center of the wheel. Wheel cover covers all of the wheel, except for about a 1" gap at its outside lip.
1957/60 F100/350 Styleside beds were also installed on some 1961/66's. Called the "wrong" beds by enthusiasts, because the bed lines don't match the cab lines.
Thank you. I never thought about the difference in terminology between hubcaps and wheel covers. Makes sense. That's a fine 59 Theodore and thanks for the link. Those discs would be a good alternative if I can't find otherwise.
