Hey all,
I saw a 1960 F-100 short bed on C/L the other day for $1800. Looks to be pretty solid overall with a 292 V-8. What are some pitfalls or things to watch out for when considering this year of truck? Common rust areas, parts availability, common drive train upgrades, common braking upgrades, suspension modifications? Any input would be appreciated...
Happy Father's Day to all us Dads out there...
Hello TJ It would be nice to bring another orphans in to the group. You won't find as many reproduced parts for the fridge but there are plenty of parts available. It really depends on how and where you want to go with the new project. There is much more room in the engine bay for any up-grade. If you want to work from a catalog or a junkyard? Common rust areas are the lower back/bottom of front fenders, bottom of doors, "A" post below the hinges, front cab mounts and back cab corners. Maybe the drip rails out there in Colorado.
