It is a well established model from a reputable brand. Everyone has favorites, but I would not anticipate you would have any problems with any of them.

Not to knock your hitch choice, but your really don't need a slider with that trailer. The radiused front end cap gives you plenty of cab clearance.

I had a reese signature series slider. Well built, maybe over built but that is good.

You probably don't need it but since this is your first 5er I'd get it.

Congrats and pics when you get them.

I agree with the slider. Better to have it than not. I watch a guy blow, out his rear window getting into a spot. He was not happy that day.

I figure the money I spend on the slider has to be cheaper than repairing a 2011 f250 and a 2015 5th wheel . I will upload some pics as soon as we get it .

Just take your time with these things.

Go to an empty parking lot and have a ground guide watch as you turn so you can see. Nice and slow does it.

If it makes you happy and feel safe, that's all that matters. I passed on a slider on my first trailer and never looked back. Never had a close call. They way I look at it is, yes, you can hit the cab if you aren't paying attention. However, you can also hit a tree if you're not paying attention. You can't foolproof life as there is one component you can't upgrade, and that's you...LOL.

I know it's probably too late but If I was to get something for a short bed, I'd get a Sidewinder pinbox instead of a slider. Half the time I've read about people making cab contact, they had a slider and didn't use it every time. The sidewinder is always engaged. It just moves the pivot point back 18" to directly under the mounting wings instead of pivoting at the hitch head. Lots of pluses there. It's always engaged so you can never forget and don't have to get out of your truck twice to engage and disengage. Plus it allows for the use of a standard hitch which is much lighter and easier to take in and out of your truck. Again, I'm sure it's too late as you said you ordered, but something to consider if you still can. Here's a video to demonstrate:

that is very kool but that even with going to just the regular hitch would add $500.00 over what I am spending now . but thanks for the giving me some feedback, I think with the max turn on the rv and the slider I will be fine . Oh by the way I drive a tractor trailer at work so it will be fine.

Tom,

I think one of the things you will discover here is often the result from asking a question is like from trying to drink from a fire hose when the answers roll in! I like Bud's advice, "take it slow". Heck, I'm still taking it slow. Maybe that means I'm just slow.

I'd look at the Amazon Ultimate Hitch if I were you. Lighter, up to 23.000 lb capacity, good for either short bed OR long bed.

Here's ONE source... I got mine from Amazon. I love it because it's so QUIET and NO clunking!
