i have a 2000 F250 superduty crew cab short box. it has any occasional issue of either just shutting down (engine dies) which seems to happen if i hit an occasional bump. the other issue has happened a couple of times which is it will lose power and just go to a rough idle. I shut it off and restart it and it will run fine. I'm wondering if it is the throttle position sensor. any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.
With the truck running at idle, get under the dash and wiggle the pcm. If the truck dies, you found it.
If it doesn't start the wiggle test. Every wire connection individually.
If no affect, get a small step ladder and do the same under the hood WITH CAUTION. The drivers side valve cover has a loom that runs over the top and that could be chafed thru. If it dies over bumps, somethings loose, chafed or corroded.
